What is Willowlee Sod’s delivery process?
Our goal is to make the entire process as easy and smooth as possible. Once you’ve placed your order online, a member of our team will get to work on putting your request together. Once we determine a delivery date, a member of our team will send you an email confirming your order and the delivery date.

When your sod is delivered to your location, you will receive it on a pallet. We will leave the pallet as close to your worksite as possible, on your driveway.
Don’t worry! We will not drive our trucks or machinery over your lawn or landscaping. We take great care to ensure that your property is unscathed.
If you wish, you can choose to keep your pallet(s), but if you would like to receive your pallet deposit back, you can return the pallets to our location.

Drought Tolerant Sod Grass
As a member of the Turfgrass Water Conservation Alliance, we are committed to ensuring that our sod is grown using 30% less water than traditional sod. Every drop of water saved makes a difference by conserving water, reducing emissions, and helping our planet.
Specifically designed and grown using significantly less water than traditional sod, Willowlee Sod Farms’ Kentucky Bluegrass requires only moderate fertilization and watering and our RTF Sod Grass uses 25-30% less water and has improved shade tolerance.
You can enjoy peace of mind knowing that you’re doing your part by purchasing ecologically friendly sod that requires less maintenance and water — and save 25-30% on your water bills!
Sod Questions, Answered
We regularly get asked questions about how to measure sod, order sod, and more. Click below to get the answers to our most frequently asked questions about sod:
A roll of sod is 2’ wide x 5’ long and covers 10 square feet.
No, not for pick up! You can come pick up one roll if that’s all you need. For delivery, the minimum is 400 square feet, or 40 rolls.
On average, one roll of sod rolls weighs 15 kg. This weight can vary from 13kg to 20kg depending on soil moisture.
A full skid of sod will have 800 square feet, or 80 rolls, on it. However, you don’t need to order sod “by the skid”. Just let us know how many square feet you need and we’ll figure out the skids required.
Yes. We deliver sod within our region. Contact us to discuss your needs. There is a minimum quantity of 400 square feet for delivery, as well as a delivery fee. We can deliver seed and fertilizer as an add-on to your sod order.
Yes. Please call us to order your sod before arriving for pick up. We cut our sod fresh each day and we only cut what we have ordered for the day. We need at least 48hours to deliver sod to you, so pre-ordering is required.
It’s not as tricky as you might think, and we have a helpful tool to make it even easier! Click to watch a quick video to see how to measure your yard for sod.
The price will depend on the surface area of the location you want to cover, however our clients often tell us that it’s less expensive than they originally thought. Use our sod calculator to determine how much sod you’ll need.
We highly recommend that you lay sod the day that it’s delivered or you pick it up — ideally within 12 hours.
Think of it this way: Would you leave cut flowers out of a vase of water for more than a few hours? Probably not, if you want them to survive. It’s the same with sod. Sod is a living thing that requires soil and water to establish roots and grow. Leaving sod out on your property for longer than 12 hours will jeopardize its overall health and ability to successfully root.
Sod is an instant fix for your lawn. If you’re planning a special event, like a wedding or you want to play a sport this summer, you will likely want quick results. This makes sod your best choice.
If you are thinking that you have some time before you need your lawn to be thick and lush, then you can purchase seeds.
