Our Hydromulch Solutions

Hydrostraw

Hydroseeding is a planting process in which a slurry containing seed, hydroseeding mulch, fertilizer, and a tackifier (bonding agent) is sprayed onto the ground. The slurry is transported in a truck-mounted tank to the site and sprayed over prepared ground in a uniform layer. It promotes quick germination and inhibits soil erosion. It is also a very cost-effective alternative to sod and offers significant cost savings and many other benefits. We offer a variety of HydroMulches so we are able to custom tailor a solution to your site.

Hydrostraw®: Cellulose Fiber Plus

HydroStraw® Cellulose Fiber Plus is a hydraulically applied mulch. It is a specially formulated composition of annually renewable wheat straw fibres, cellulose fibres, natural fibres for fibre matrix entanglement, and a non-toxic soil stabilizer.

Hydrostraw®: Bonded Fiber Matrix

HydroStraw Bonded Fiber Matrix is designed to be more cost-effective than blankets. It costs less to apply per acre than conventional BFM mulches on difficult sites, slopes, and adverse soil conditions where extra erosion prevention is needed. The product includes long natural fibres for maximum matrix entanglement for improved performance. The combination of fibre entanglement in conjunction with our cross-linked high-strength polymer binders produce great erosion prevention and vegetation establishment.

Hydrostraw®: Guar Plus

HydroStraw Guar Plus is designed to provide extra protection on difficult sites where slopes, soil conditions, or weather call for extra erosion control. It also includes a high-strength polymer binder to ensure smooth hydro seeder operation. This pre-blended product eliminates the extra step and mess of field mixing. Guar Gum pre-mix eliminates the “fish-eyes” that can form with in-field mixing making the tackifier more effective.

Hydrostraw®: All In 1

HydroStraw® All In 1 addresses all the requirements for stabilizing and restoring vegetation on disturbed soil sites, and controlling erosion during vegetation establishment. It consists of heat and mechanically treated wheat straw fibres. Wheat straw fibres are environmentally safe, biodegradable, and produced from annually renewable materials combined with a non-toxic brown colourant as an application aid. The porous matrix of the wheat straw encourages water infiltration, enabling the new seedlings to easily pass through the matrix. The combination of the wheat straw fibres, together with our cross-linked high strength polymer binders, provides effective erosion prevention and increased vegetation establishment.
