Grade Lead/Foreperson

Mission:

To ensure our clients receive timely and consistent results from each of our Grade Crews. To train ‘The Willowlee Way’ and support and develop our Grade Operators to create consistency.

Core Competences:

The Grade Lead at Willowlee Sod Farms duties shall include but not be limited to:

  • Provided Training and development for grade operators including but not limited to:
    • Maintaining Foreperson Reports and Safety Logs – including LMN
    • How to read a site plan / Grade markers
    • Supervising additional grade labourers – how to manage a jobsite
    • Maintaining Equipment – why it’s important and what to check
    • Best practices for using skid steer power rake / bucket – when and how to best use equipment and when to shovel
    • Communicating with customers, how to handle concerns or obstacles at site level
  • Communicate with Operators / Director of Operations regarding material needs (e.g. soil, stone, etc.) as well as labourers / equipment for each team as required
  • Able to read and execute site plans
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and written
  • Familiar with current technology (e.g. cell phones, tablets)

While the Grade Lead at Willowlee Sod Farms will be primarily focused on the preparation and grading of job sites, and the training and development of our Grade Operators, they may be asked to branch out to support the business as required.

Qualifications:

  • Valid AR License or equivalent (preferred)
  • Clean Drivers Abstract
  • 5 Years Skid steer / Grading Experience
  • 5 years Jobsite Management Experience

Physical requirements:

Willowlee Employees must be able to start early and lift up to 50lbs frequently throughout the course of the day. The job requires a combination of sitting and standing as well as repetitious lifting and turning. Maintaining the equipment involves fine motor skills and the ability to think critically and problem solve.

Hydroseeder Operator

Job purpose:

Hydroseeders at Willowlee Sod Farms will be responsible for working with the Project Coordinators and communicating with the Preparation Specialists to manage the completion of Hydroseed projects. Operators will be responsible for the equipment and job site safety in relation to application of Hydroseed. Operators will also be responsible for ensuring that the upkeep and general cleanliness of all equipment vehicles and tools used in day-to-day activities is being completed. Operators must represent themselves and the company in a professional manner.

Duties and responsibilities:

Hydroseeder Operators at Willowlee Sod Farms duties shall include but not be limited to:

  • Application of Hydromulch / Hydroseed
  • Clean up and general job site tidiness
  • Upkeep and cleanliness of tools and truck
  • Completion of Foreman Reports / Job site Safety Reports
  • Coordinate with the Project Coordinator / Preparation Specialist
  • Supporting Willowlee Winter Operations by Plowing Snow / Operating Salt trucks
  • Other duties as assigned

While the Hydroseeder Operator at Willowlee Sod Farms will be primarily focused on application of product, they may be asked to branch out to support the business as required. Training will be provided for any tasks that fall outside of the normal scope of work or into areas the employee may be unfamiliar with.

Qualifications:

  • Valid DZ License or equivalent
  • Hold a in good standing a clean drivers abstract
  • Own PPE (Safety Boots)
  • Ability to lift 60lbs

Working conditions:

The Work Environment at Willowlee Sod Farms is a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Employees are required to work outside for extended periods of time in varying types of weather to support our customers’ needs and the needs of the business.

Physical requirements:

Willowlee Employees must be able to start early and lift up to 60lbs frequently throughout the course of the day. The job requires a combination of standing and kneeling as well as repetitious lifting and turning. The ability to think critically and problem solve is crucial to the success of all employees at Willowlee Sod Farms.

Labourer

Job purpose:

Labourers shall assist with the day-to-day operations of Willowlee Sod Farms in relation to the manufacturing, harvesting, sale, and installation of sod, seed, and hydroseed as the business dictates. Labourers will also be responsible for the upkeep and general cleanliness of all equipment vehicles and tools used in day-to-day activities. Labourers must represent themselves and the company in a professional manner.

Duties and responsibilities:

Labourers at Willowlee Sod Farms duties shall include but not be limited to:

  • Preparation of job sites
  • Installation of Sod / Seed / Fertilizer
  • Clean up and general jobsite tidiness
  • Upkeep and cleanliness of tools and crew truck
  • Supporting Willowlee Winter Operations
  • General Farm and Office Maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned

While labourers at Willowlee Sod Farms will be primarily focused on installation of product, they may be asked to branch out to support the business as required. Training will be provided for any tasks that fall outside of the normal scope of work or into areas the employee may be unfamiliar with.

Qualifications:

  • Valid G License or equivalent
  • Hold a in good standing a clean drivers abstract
  • Own PPE (Safety Boots)
  • Ability to lift 60lbs

Install Lead Hand

Mission:

To ensure our clients receive timely and consistent results from our Install Team. To train ‘The Willowlee Way’ and support and develop our Landscape Labourers to create consistency.

Core Competences:

Lead Hands at Willowlee Sod Farms duties shall include but not be limited to:

  • Provided Training and development for Landscape Labourers including but not limited to:
    • Safe Work Practices
    • Maintaining Equipment – why it’s important and what to check
    • Best practices for each part of Sod Installation
  • Able to supervise 1-3 people on independent job sites
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and written. Able to maintain accurate Time Cards and jobsite information.
  • Familiar with current technology (e.g. cell phones, tablets)
  • Class “G” License with a clean abstract – Willing to obtain a Class “AR” license with training

While the Install Lead at Willowlee Sod Farms will be primarily focused on supporting our Install Lead and the Install team but may be asked to branch out to support the business as required.

Qualifications:

  • Valid G License
  • Valid AR License or willing to obtain
  • Positive Attitude and willingness to learn
  • Clean Drivers Abstract
  • 2+ years crew Management Experience

Physical requirements:

Willowlee Employees must be able to start early and lift up to 50lbs frequently throughout the course of the day. The job requires a combination of sitting and standing as well as repetitious lifting and turning. Maintaining the equipment involves fine motor skills and the ability to think critically and problem solve.

Maintenance Crew Labourer

Job purpose:

Maintenance crew labourers are responsible for maintaining various properties around the Belleville and Trenton area, including areas around our home farms, shop, and office. Labourers will also be responsible for the upkeep and general cleanliness of all equipment vehicles and tools used in day-to-day activities. Labourers must represent themselves and the company in a professional manner.

Duties and responsibilities:

Labourers at Willowlee Sod Farms duties shall include but not be limited to:

  • Mowing the grass at various job sites
  • Using string-trimmers
  • Maintaining gardens beds, pruning certain plants
  • Mulching garden beds
  • Ensuring job sites are litter-free
  • Clean up and general jobsite tidiness
  • Upkeep and cleanliness of tools and crew truck
  • Supporting Willowlee Winter Operations
  • General Farm and Office Maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned

While maintenance crew labourers at Willowlee Sod Farms will be primarily focused on property maintenance, they may be asked to branch out to support the business as required. Training will be provided for any tasks that fall outside of the normal scope of work or into areas the employee may be unfamiliar with.

Qualifications:

  • Valid G License or equivalent
  • Hold a in good standing a clean drivers abstract
  • Own PPE (Safety Boots)
  • Ability to lift 60lbs

Truck Driver

Job purpose:

Drivers with Willowlee Sod Farms are required to support the business through the delivery of products / services using a variety of trucks and equipment. Drivers must represent themselves and the company in a professional manner and adhere to all applicable labour and MTO rules and regulations.

Duties and responsibilities:

Drivers at Willowlee Sod Farms duties shall include :

  • Operating Tractor Trailer / Tandem Delivery Trucks
  • Operating Dump Trucks
  • Operating Hydroseeder Trucks as required
  • Loading and Unloading Own Truck / Load Security
  • Operating equipment on job sites
  • Supporting Willowlee Operations by assisting with Installation of product
  • Supporting Willowlee Winter Operations by Plowing Snow / Operating Salt trucks
  • Other Duties as assigned

While Drivers at Willowlee Sod Farms will be primarily focused on the delivery and install of our products, they may be asked to branch out to support the business as required. Training will be provided for any tasks that fall outside of the normal scope of work or into areas the employee may be unfamiliar with.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ Years of driving experience
  • Valid AZ License
  • Hold a Forklift certification
  • Ability to operate forklifts and piggyback forklifts in a variety of weather and traffic conditions
  • Be able to lift up to 60lbs on a daily basis
  • Hold an in good standing and clean drivers abstract

Working conditions:

Work Environments for a Driver at Willowlee Sod Farms is a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Drivers are required to work outside for extended periods of time in varying types of weather to support our customers’ needs and the needs of the business.

Physical requirements:

Willowlee Drivers must be able to start early and lift up to 60lbs frequently throughout the course of the delivery day. The job requires a combination of sitting and standing as well as repetitious lifting and turning.

Site Preparation Specialist / Site Foreperson

Job purpose:

Site Preparation Specialists will be responsible for ensuring the proper preparation and grade of new sites prior to installation. Specialists will coordinate with the Install Foreman and Project Coordinators to ensure that projects remain on schedule. As the business dictates, Preparation Specialists may be required to supervise an installation crew in order to bring the project to completion.

Duties and responsibilities:

Site Preparation Specialists at Willowlee Sod Farms duties shall include but not be limited to:

  • Preparation and completion of installation projects
  • Maintaining Foreperson Reports and Safety Logs
  • Supervising installation Crew or Prep Helper
  • Maintaining Equipment
  • Operation of tractor mounted or skid steer power rake
  • Operation of other tractor mounted implements
  • Supporting Willowlee Winter Operations by Plowing Snow / Operating Salt trucks
  • Other Duties as assigned

While the Site Preparation Specialists at Willowlee Sod Farms will be primarily focused on the preparation and grading of installation sites, they may be asked to branch out to support the business as required. Training will be provided for any tasks that fall outside of the normal scope of work or into areas the employee may be unfamiliar with.

Qualifications:

  • Valid AR License or equivalent (preferred)
  • Hold a Forklift certification
  • Ability to operate forklifts and piggyback forklifts in a variety of weather and traffic conditions
